About Bermondsey
You will find the market at Bermondsey Square, once the site of Bermondsey Abbey, south of The River Thames from Tower Bridge. Since 1154, when Henry II held court at Bermondsey Priory, the area has gone through periods of dramatic change. Manor houses were built here, The Knights Templar owned land here, Turner even painted here! Even after the Great Fire of London in 1666 the area flourished once again. Now here we are in the 21st Century and the area has gone through yet another period of change and believe us when we say that it is thriving!
